Overview... a shy aristocrat with a strong sense of honor. While his mother wants him to be a notable public figure, Edward longs only for a quiet, happy home life. In fact it’s his desire for simplicity that first draws him to the similarly disposed Elinor Dashwood. But a secret from Edward’s past threatens their affectionate attachment.
Personality... honorable, intellectual, shy, and kind. Edward may not be the most handsome or sociable gentleman in London society, but he does have an “open, affectionate heart.” He’s terrible at public speaking and often awkward at social events, but he’s generous and kind with those he cares about. Above all, Edward prides himself on being a man of honor. Once given, he would never break his word – even if he desperately wants to.
