Ed Walters

Overview...  a good-natured mechanic who’s a lot smarter than you might think. But whether that will be enough to woo Catherine, his dream girl and the niece of Albert Einstein, remains to be seen. At least Ed has Albert on his side. The famed genius sees that Ed is not only gifted with the intricacies of the automotive engine, but pretty adept at understanding human nature – and simply a nice guy to boot. Albert thinks his niece doesn’t have enough fun and is engaged to a bore, and he has a point on both fronts. So Albert and his scientist friends decide to help Ed win Catherine’s heart.

Personality... charming, sweet, interesting, and determined. Ed may not know nuclear physics, he's a pro at knowing the physics of a car: "You see, you have a Lucas-type four generator on a 12-volt system, and you know the British. They'd rather spend time gluing wood on a dashboard than getting the electrical system right." Ed proves that there are different kinds of intelligence, and that he is plenty smart where it counts.
