Overview... chief of the CIA’s Near East division. Ed Hoffman lives two lives simultaneously. On one hand he’s a typical, American dad – he goes to soccer games, grocery-shops, and drives a minivan. On the other hand, he’s constantly on his hands-free cell phone orchestrating several intricate CIA operations in the Middle East at once.
Personality... determined, confident, and Machiavellian. Hoffman believes in reaching his goal by any means necessary. In the War on Terror, where “your friends dress just like your enemies and your enemies dress like your friends,” Hoffman prefers to keep a healthy dose of skepticism.

When Ferris devises a plan to infiltrate his network, he must first win the backing of cunning CIA veteran Ed Hoffman and the collegial, but perhaps suspect, head of Jordanian intelligence.
