Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Grew Up… in L.A.’s racing world. Dom’s father, a racer, was killed in an accident when Dom was young. As Dom describes the horrific event, “I watched my father burn to death. I can still remember him screaming. The people who were there said my father died long before the tanks blew. They said it was me that was screaming.”

Living… two lives in L.A. By day, Dom is a nobody body shop owner, but by night, he’s one of the most prominent figures in L.A’s underground street racing scene.

Profession… street racer. Dom owns a body shop and a grocery store with his sister, Mia, but Dom’s true passion is racing. Even as someone who has witnessed the dangers of street racing, Dom has an insatiable appetite for speed. As he describes his life philosophy, “I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters. For those ten seconds or less, I’m free.”

Interests… racing and his family. Dom always prioritizes his street racing team and his sister over anything else. Loyalty is what counts most for Dom. As he tells his sister’s new boyfriend Brian, “You break her heart, I’ll break your neck.”

Challenge… making a living and keeping clear of the police. Building fast cars can be an expensive hobby, and Dom and his team have to find a way to support themselves, even if it’s not always legal.

Personality… tough, but with a soft side. Dom’s loyalty and his rough moral code make him the kind of man that a street racing team can look up to, and give him the competitive edge that it takes to survive as a racer. As he puts it, “Ask any racer, any real racer. It don’t matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning’s winning.”
