Living... in Los Angeles in the 1980s.

Profession... soap opera actress. Debbie spent years playing Laura Morgan on the popular soap opera Paradise Cove, but she was fired when she got pregnant.

Interests... fashion, acting, and parenthood.

Relationship Status... separated. Debbie is devastated to learn that her husband Mark had an affair with her best friend Ruth Wilder. After ending her friendship with Ruth and taking a break from Mark, Debbie must pick up the shattered pieces of her life while taking care of her newborn son Randy.

Challenge... creating a wrestling show. Debbie winds up inadvertently stumbling into the world of professional wrestling through a new TV show called the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling or GLOW. Like most of her co-stars, she has no experience with wrestling, and the ladies have a long way to go to create a watchable show. But ornery director Sam Sylvia convinces Debbie that GLOW is a space where she can control her own creative destiny. As Debbie comes to realize, “I actually like wrestling… It’s like I’m back in my body and it doesn't belong to Randy or Mark.” The only problem is that she has to work alongside Ruth. Thankfully, they’re at least able to turn their personal tension into a dramatic onstage feud between Debbie’s all-American hero “Liberty Belle” and Ruth’s villainous Russian “Zoya the Destroya.”

Personality... ambitious and high-strung. Debbie has always aimed for greatness. As she sees it, “Things don’t just happen. People make choices. They want things, and then they go for them.” On Paradise Cove she would improvise more interesting lines than the writers gave her. Yet ambitious women don’t always get ahead in life, and Debbie has learned how to package herself to be as appealing and nonthreatening as possible. Inside, however, she’s yearning for a space to express everything she’s thinking and feeling. That disconnect often manifests as anxiety and insecurity. Debbie can be a bit entitled at times, but she’s not just a vapid starlet. She has a savvy mind for business and a wealth of knowledge about the entertainment industry.
