Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Overview… a commitment-phobe pretending to be committed. For years Danny Maccabee has feigned an unhappy marriage to pick up women without any strings attached – a clever technique that has worked for years. His lies backfire with Palmer Dodge, a beautiful sixth-grade math teacher who refuses to become an adulteress. In order to continue the relationship, Danny pays his office manager and best friend, Katherine Murphy, to pose as his soon-to-be ex-wife. When Katherine’s kids end up getting involved in the farce, Danny must play an almost ex-husband and doting father – neither of which he knows how to do.
Personality… laidback and hilarious yet at times inconsiderate and self-involved. Danny does not care if his methods hurt others, as long as he doesn’t get hurt in the process. Aside from his questionable love life, Danny can be quite charming. Just ask Katherine.
