Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Grew Up… getting everything she ever wanted. But her dreams were taken from her when she was murdered the day before her wedding. As she says, “It's a tragic tale of romance, passion and murder most foul.”

Living… in the Land of the Dead. The Corpse Bride has spent so long in the darkness, waiting under a tree for true love to set her free. Thankfully, he's finally arrived. She just got married to Victor. His vows at the wedding were some of the most beautiful she ever heard. He claims that they were meant for someone else, but that doesn't matter to her. She pulled him down to join her in the Land of the Dead and they had the most spectacular wedding reception – complete with dancing skeletons and a wedding cake made of bones.

Visiting… the Land of the Living again. She convinced Victor to go there because she found out their vows were not official. He needs to repeat his vows there and drink from the wine of ages for them to live happily ever after.

Relationship Status… confusing. The Corpse Bride is having feelings she never knew she could have. Since she is dead, she doesn’t feel the same things that humans do. For example, if she touches a burning candle, she can feel no pain. Yet somehow she is experiencing intense feelings for Victor in her heart even though her heart doesn’t beat.

Challenge… realizing that Victor is still in love with Victoria. She is starting to feel guilty about taking Victor’s dream away – just like her dreams were taken from her.

Personality… aggressive, outgoing, and sexy (in a skeleton kind of way). The Corpse Bride is full of passion and life even though she is not actually alive. She unabashedly goes for what she wants, but now she is starting to think she has gone too far. She may have a heart after all.
