Coach Beard

Living… in London, England, where he recently moved from the United States. No one really knows what Coach Beard is ever up to when he goes home. Even though he is generally a reserved individual, his stories suggest an incredibly exciting private life to a comical extent.

Profession… assistant coach for AFC Richmond in the Premier League. Coach Beard has agreed to accompany head coach, Ted Lasso, in a jarring transition from the coaching staff of Wichita State American football in the NCAA to the coaching staff of a Premier League club.

Interests… drinking. In his free time, Coach Beard is often seen at the bar with close friends, usually Ted.

Relationship Status… it's complicated. Coach Beard is in an on-and-off relationship with the mysterious “Jane,” whom his friends have never really had the opportunity of getting to know. He struggles with relationships. As he says, "In all my happiest memories, I'm single. that troubles me."

Challenge… adjusting to life in the U.K. Even for someone as private as Coach Beard, living so far from home is an isolating experience for anyone. He has a small circle that he can always rely on but branching out can be difficult in a brand-new country.

Personality… loyal, reserved, and oddly mysterious. Coach Beard generally keeps to himself and trusts a very select few people. But the few people he is close to he would truly take a bullet for. Truth be told, he lives a confusing life. But at the end of the day, he always has the backs of those he trusts.
