Clay Easton

Grew Up… in Los Angeles with his parents and two sisters. His parents separated about a year ago, and they seem really uncomfortable when they get together as a family.

Profession… in New Hampshire where he goes to college at Camden, but he's back with his family and friends over winter break. He almost didn't recognize his father with his tan and hair transplant.

Interests… drugs, parties, and working on his tan. Since he’s home from break and with his old friends, all they do is go to clubs and parties night after night, listening to records, doing coke, and feeling nothing. When he goes out, he makes sure to lock his door because his sisters stole a quarter gram of cocaine from him the last time he left it open.

Relationship Status… in a charade of a relationship. Blair comes and goes, but Clay doesn’t care either way. She says she makes an effort but Clay never does. She says he’s never there and not worth the trouble. Clay guesses she’s probably right.

Challenge… dealing with his despair. He'll be at his psychiatrist's office crying for no reason, but he doesn't feel the motivation. As he says, "I don't want to care. If I care about things, it'll just be worse, it'll just be another thing to worry about. It's less painful if I don't care." 

Personality… apathetic and numb. Nothing can faze him anymore. He was so eager to grow up, and to him, growing up was a matter of materials– cars, drugs, sunglasses. All traditional moral codes are useless to him. He isn’t sure what he really likes, or if he’s even capable of connecting with something outside of himself. Although he is smart and talented, he doesn’t feel much motivation. In truth, he doesn’t think he deserves much else.
