Living… in a house in Swindon, Wiltshire, England. Christopher was told that his mother died two years ago of a heart attack and was cremated, so now it’s just him, his single father, and his pet rat living together. His father takes pretty good care of him, understanding Christopher’s needs, but the man does lose his patience.
Profession… student. At just 15 years old, Christopher is already taking the A-levels for mathematics in order to attend university.
Interests… tackling difficult math problems, listing prime numbers, doing any activity involving numbers, following his own superstitions, and recording his life as a murder mystery book.
Relationship Status… single. Due to what appears to be a mild form of autism, Christopher has difficulty understanding and interacting with people. Having a relationship and figuring out love is as difficult for him as quantum physics is for a typical elementary school kid.
Challenge… solving the mystery of the poodle murder case. Christopher discovers the body of his neighbor’s poodle seven minutes after midnight, and he wants to know why somebody would stick a garden fork into a dog. He needs to investigate, but his father is very firm about Christopher not sticking his nose into other people’s business. On top of that, his awkwardness in social situations and the tendency for other people to misunderstand him – and vice versa – make it hard for him to do detective work. Even so, he will not be deterred.
Personality… brilliant, clueless, isolated, and wants to be in control. Although he is able to do things like calculate the volume of air in a police cell, he is surprisingly blind to things that have to do with other people, even if they’re right in front of him. That may be because he needs to keep them at a distance for his own peace of mind: “I do not like people shouting at me. It makes me scared that they are going to hit me or touch me and I do not know what is going to happen.”
