Character Analysis
(Avoiding Spoilers)
Grew up… without much love in his life. Christian is the product of abuse, which helps explain his almost sociopathic detachment. Underneath his handsome charm is a highly damaged individual.
Living… in the fast lane. Single life in Miami can be a bit of a blur, especially when you’ve got Christian’s charm and charisma.
Profession… partner at McNamara/Troy plastic surgery clinic. Christian is in the plastic surgery game for two things: money and sex. He loves the power that comes with his job – the power to perfect people. As he likes to say, “The line that divides the porn industry and the plastic surgery industry is a thin one. We’re both selling fantasy, aren’t we?”
Interests… sex, sex and sex. Christian is constantly thinking about women. But he’s more about the conquest than sticking around. He’s easily bored and hard to satisfy for long, so it’s all about finding a steady stream of hot, new partners.
Relationship Status… none. Christian doesn’t like to develop attachments. In fact, he’s beginning to think that he’s incapable of doing so. As he puts it, “If I’m going to do this one-woman thing, it can’t be with just one woman.”
Challenge… getting over himself. Christian’s narcissism may be good for his career, but it’s not doing wonders for his personal life. While women may be attracted to his confident swagger, at least initially, it only angers his best friend and partner, Sean.
Personality… confident, suave, and duplicitous. Christian doesn’t have much of a sense of loyalty. He’s self-absorbed and extremely arrogant, yet somehow manages to charm everyone around him. “Let your shortcomings and flaws fuel you,” he tells a prospective patient. “When you stop striving for perfection you might as well be dead.” Christian is shooting for his version of “perfect,” and he usually thinks he’s pretty close. Whether that will ultimately make him happy is another question.
