Overview... a struggling salesman who's just trying to get by. Currently working as a door-to-door salesman, Chris has been doing all right at his job, but it still isn't quite enough to feed his wife and son. And while Christopher Jr. isn't old enough to care about money, Linda is starting to get irritated with her husband's inability to provide for them. When she leaves, it’s just Chris and his son, and without money they might face a life on the streets.
Personality... intelligent, caring, and hardworking. A devoted father and an eager worker, Chris should have everything it takes to be successful and happy. Luck, however, seems to constantly be working against him. Through it all, Chris tries to be optimistic. After all, when you've hit rock bottom, things can only get better, right? Right?

The true story of Christopher Gardner, who invests heavily in a device known as a 'Bone Density Scanner', only to find himself struggle to sell the product as it's just marginally better than the current technology, and much more expensive. His wife leaves him, he loses his house, bank account and credit cards and, now forced to live out in the streets with his young son, he's desperate to find a steady job. He takes on a job as a stockbroker but, before he can receive pay, he needs to go through 6 months of training, and must sell his devices.
