Overview... divorcee and recovering heroin addict looking for answers. Tired of her cold, static Minneapolis life, she travels to the West Coast to hike up the Pacific Crest Trail: 2,650 miles from Southern California to Washington state. But Cheryl has no hiking experience and can barely carry her pack, much less build a fire and set up her tent. It’s going to be a long journey.
Personality... introspective, impulsive, and depressed. After her mother passed away, Cheryl turned to drugs and sex, ruining her marriage and sending her searching for meaning in her life. She finds great solace in poems and quotes, which she leaves at guest books along the trail. Cheryl begins the hike with naïve optimism, but grows stronger and tougher with each step.
