Character Analysis

Overview... a spider who's not as scary as she looks. Sure, she might trap and eat other insects, but right now, Charlotte's less focused on taking lives than she is on saving lives. More specifically, she’s trying to guard the life of Wilbur, a piglet who's on the fast track to becoming bacon.
Personality... clever, loyal, and nurturing. Charlotte might not be much older than Wilbur – barn spiders usually die after a year or two, after all – but in terms of maturity, she acts as a definite mother figure to the young pig. They might belong to different species, but Charlotte's as fiercely protective of Wilbur as a real mother would be, and she's willing to do anything to stop him from getting butchered.
