Charles Halloway

Overview... a library janitor in dusty Green Town, Illinois. Charles Halloway is hardly the "cool" dad a thirteen-year-old boy would want. There's no denying, however, that Charles is a good dad: most fathers, when told of demonic circuses riding into town, would be inclined to dismiss such tales as mere boyish imagination. Charles, on the other hand, takes Will's fears seriously, and soon he's caught in a merry-go-round of magic, danger, and fear.

Personality... unassuming, but brave and caring. Charles may seem pretty ordinary to his son, but that doesn't mean either of them love each any less. And when Will's best friend, Jim, succumbs to the dark carnival's charms, Charles shows the true fearlessness that lies underneath his quiet composure.
