Overview... a captain in post-Civil War Spain. Captain Videl is the embodiment of dictator Francisco Franco. His iron fist rules over the region and his job is to hunt rebels and smoke them out. He strikes fear into all of the region’s inhabitants, including a young girl, Ofelia, who retreats into her imagination.
Personality… tyrannical, militant, and short-tempered. Videl won’t hesitate to smash your face in with a wine bottle. Violence and terror are his calling cards. His military power affords him the security of committing egregious acts of violence while still receiving the seal of approval from the Spanish state.

Living with her tyrannical stepfather in a new home with her pregnant mother, 10-year-old Ofelia feels alone until she explores a decaying labyrinth guarded by a mysterious faun who claims to know her destiny. If she wishes to return to her real father, Ofelia must complete three terrifying tasks.
