Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Overview... an Imperial cargo fighter who has defected to the Rebel Alliance. Rook is carrying a message from the Death Star’s architect, Galen Erso, for Rebel extremist leader Saw Gerrera about a secret way to destroy the Death Star. At least, that’s what Rook says. The Alliance is skeptical about both Rook and Erso, while Gerrera – whose default setting is paranoia – will force Rook to prove he’s telling the truth, or die trying. But everything changes when Galen’s long-lost daughter, Jyn, shows up with Rebel intelligence officer Cassian Andor.

Personality... skittish and jittery, but brave. You might be jumpy too if you defected from the Empire and are thus a marked man, but rather than welcome you the Rebels seem to want to kill you just as badly. Nobody appears to believe Rook. Still, he’s determined to make the risk he’s taking pay off in the potential destruction of the Death Star, and he’s willing to put himself on the line even further to help make that happen.
