Bobby Axelrod

Grew up… in a rough part of Yonkers with an abusive father. His memories of his childhood were so painful that he bought his childhood home so that nobody would have to go through what he did in that house. Growing up poor and miserable, Bobby attended Hofstra for college and resolved that he would build a better life for himself. 

Living… with his wife Lara and two sons in a $83 million waterfront mansion. They have everything that money can buy, including a helicopter, a private jet, and a personal chef. Bobby, who goes by “Axe”, has made billions through hedge fund investing, but his former colleagues were not as lucky. They died in the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11, and the only reason Bobby survived was that he was out of the office that day. Never to miss a financial opportunity, Axe shorted airline stocks on 9/11 and made a fortune. With his wealth, he’s committed to supporting the New York City Firefighters Foundation and paying the college tuition of the children of his colleagues who died. 

Profession… CEO of Axe Capital, one of the most successful hedge funds in the world. The analysts who work for him say he is a ruthless and brilliant boss. 

Interests… heavy metal, including Metallica, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden.

Relationship… married to Lara, who is a former nurse who came from a modest background like Bobby. Lara is stunning and stylish, but she is also tough. She’ll do anything to protect their family.

Challenge… dealing with Chuck Rhoades, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York who suspects that Axe is profiting from illegal inside information. But Axe is confident that he has the connections and the resources to take down any threats in his path.

Personality… demanding, power-hungry, and smooth. Axe explains the secret to his success: "Nature didn't select me. I selected myself by harnessing my nature." His nature can be a bit shady at times, but many still admire him for his brilliant mind, charisma, and billions.
