Blair Waldorf

Living… on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, with her fashion designer mother, Eleanor. She’s spent most of her life as part of New York’s high society and doesn’t plan to leave it anytime soon. She considers herself the Queen Bee of the Upper East Side.

Profession… student at the Constance Billard School for Girls. Blair is the shot-caller of Billard’s social scene and becomes extremely paranoid anytime someone threatens her hegemony. She leads campaigns to alienate those who cross her, sets people up, and manipulates whoever it takes to stay on top. Her prized status causes a rivalry between her and Serena, her best friend and former Queen Bee.

Interests... fashion. Blair’s tendency to overachieve crosses over into her style choices, and she treats a normal day at school like a walk on the runway. She’s almost always wearing designer clothing, and even started a line of her own. As she puts it, “Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It's movement, design, and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we'd like to be.”

Relationship Status... in a relationship with Nate Archibald. The two have been dating forever, but their relationship is hardly what it once was. Though she would never admit it, Blair has a strange attraction to the rich and cocky Chuck Bass. These complicated feelings threaten to ruin her relationship with Nate, and she fights them with all her strength.

Challenge… getting over her insecurities. No matter how hard Blair tries (and she tries very hard), she’s still never content. She constantly feels threatened by Serena and her insecurities put a strain on all of her friendships. She feels an enormous pressure to be perfect, and the stress of being on top of the social pyramid often gets to her. As she puts it, “The rules are different for the Serena van der Woodsens of the world. People expect you to be party and be wild, sleep with whoever you want, run away, come back...You shot your reputation to hell a long time ago. It doesn't matter what you do, but I'm a Waldorf!”

Personality… domineering, manipulative, and loyal. Blair has it all, yet she wants even more. She’s an obsessive overachiever with a shaky moral fiber, and she’ll go to great lengths to get what she wants. She sees other females as rivals and barely even trusts her best friends. Still, despite her ruthlessness, she can be sensitive and compassionate when her friends are in need, and won’t hesitate to defend someone she cares about.
