Living… in Atlanta with her single mom.
Profession… high-achieving straight A high school student. Bianca is known as the “DUFF” of her friend group that includes popular girls Jess and Casey. As Bianca has discovered, DUFF means Designated Ugly Fat Friend: someone who is more approachable that can be an intermediary between others and their more attractive and popular friends. Bianca also knows the extremely popular football captain Wesley Rush. They were close as kids, taking baths together as babies. But they’re more annoyances to each other now that there’s quite a gap in their social standings.
Interests… cult movies. She enjoys unorthodox movies whose obscure references may not be understood by her peers.
Relationship Status… single. She’s picky about guys but she’s got her eyes set on Toby Tucker, aka her #FutureBabyDaddy, and she wants to go to homecoming with him. Problem is, she can’t even say three words to him, literally!
Challenge… accepting her current identity as the DUFF. Bianca feels understood at her high school. She gets lost among her more popular friends and wants people to recognize her special qualities, not just seeing her as an appendage to her friends.
Personality… self-assured, dynamic, and introverted. Bianca couldn’t care less what others think of her and her unconventional interests. But when it comes to guys, she’s not confident and often escapes from boys she likes by leaving abruptly mid-conversation because she gets tongue-tied. She tries to take criticism in stride by brushing it off with her usual sarcasm, but it's certainly not easy.

Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a secret enemies-with-benefits relationship with him. Until it all goes horribly wrong. It turns out Wesley isn't such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she's falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.
