Character Analysis

Profession… book publisher. Beth's most notable book series are romance novels written by Loretta Sage. Her job security is largely dependent upon Loretta’s output as an author and her willingness to promote her books. Loretta has been writing for quite some time, and she has become less dependable when it comes to having enthusiasm for producing and helping to sell a new novel. This makes Beth’s job much harder as she has put more effort into promotion and encouraging Loretta to write.
Relationship Status… single. Beth prioritizes her personal success and has not shown much interest in having a partner or settling down. Her work as Loretta Sage’s publisher allows her to travel around the world, and she does draw a lot of attention from men, even when it is not necessarily wanted. In some cases, she does appreciate it and uses her beauty and charm to her advantage so that she and the other people traveling with Loretta can be more comfortable and make the best out of the unique situations in which they find themselves.
Challenge… being a supportive friend to Loretta. Loretta has spent a long time grieving the loss of her husband. While it is in Beth’s best interest for Loretta to work tirelessly to pump out new books, they have grown close over the years that they have been working together. Beth is kind-hearted and encourages Loretta to put her energy into her passions rather than feeding into the perpetual feelings of grief and loneliness. As Beth tells her, “It feels easier to live in your bathtub, drinking Chardonnay on ice. But girl, there is a great big world waiting for you, and a book tour I can’t cancel. So just make it happen, alright?”
Personality… loyal and protective. Beth often invests a lot of her time and energy into helping her friends and making sure they are safe. She is highly resourceful and willing to go to great lengths for the people she cares about. Beth is level-headed, and logical, and she maintains a healthy level of skepticism.
