Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living… life as "Berlin," an alias he has taken on for a planned robbery of the Royal Mint of Spain in Madrid. The mastermind behind the heist is a man who goes by The Professor, who Berlin has known for a long time. The Professor has established rules that everyone must follow during the heist, and one of them is that no one can reveal their real names. Because the team is not to get to know each other personally, they all selected city names as aliases. And they hide their faces with Salvador Dali masks.

Profession… renowned jewel thief, specializing in auction houses, jewelry stores, and armored trucks. One of his most successful crimes was stealing 434 diamonds from the Champs-Elysees.

Interests… singing, listening to music, and drinking expensive liquor.

Relationship Status… divorced. A romantic at heart, Berlin said he believed in love five times—and got divorced five times.

Challenge… suffering from a degenerative disease, which likely kill him in the next couple of months. With nothing to lose, he’s joined the heist to go out with a bang. Berlin wants to live life to the fullest in his final days, and he seems grateful to know when his time is ending. As he says, “First times are special. Unique. But the last times are beyond comparison. They are priceless… Death can be the greatest opportunity of your life.”

Personality… cocky, suave, and calm. Berlin has a poker face and doesn’t show others how he feels. Lacking empathy, he can come across as cold. But he may be the person the group needs to calmly lead them inside the Mint.
