Living… in the Enchanted Forest, first as Rumplestiltskin’s servant and then as the Evil Queen’s prisoner. Belle didn’t have much luck holding onto her freedom before the curse. But she did fall in love with Rumplestiltskin, who was her Beast – yes, that Beauty and the Beast – though being kept as his only servant didn’t exactly give Belle a lot of dating options.
Visiting… Storybrooke, Maine, along with many fairytale figures. It’s not exactly a happy homecoming, however, because Storybrooke was created via a curse by the Evil Queen that has wiped their memories clean.
Profession… currently in limbo. Under the Evil Queen’s curse, she does not remember her past and has been locked up by Regina (the name the Evil Queen uses in Storybrooke) in a secret psychiatric ward.
Interests… books, reading, and libraries. Belle never underestimates the power of knowledge. She once tracked down a monster in the Enchanted Forest before an entire group of experienced hunters, merely with the information gained from a book.
Relationship Status… in a complicated relationship with Rumplestiltskin. Prior to the curse, she saw the good in him and believed in him completely. She even once told him, “You don't need power, Rumple. You need courage, to let me in.” The problem now is that she doesn’t remember anything about their past relationship, even though Rumplestiltskin is also in Storybrooke, going by the name Mr. Gold.
Challenge… getting out of the psych ward and getting her memory back. Belle and Baelfire (Rumplestiltskin’s son, who is Neal Cassidy in the “real” world) are also the only two people who can inspire benevolence in Rumplestiltskin’s heart. Since Baelfire’s relationship with his father is strained at best, it’s up to Belle to act as Rumplestiltskin’s conscience when his desire for revenge begins to grow.
Personality… empathetic, adventurous, and moral. Belle’s morality is central to who she is.
