Grew up... in 15th century Europe. Bayonetta was born while Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages were still allies. However, the circumstances of her birth caused the clans to go to war and Bayonetta herself to fall into a 500-year-long sleep.
Living... in Vigrid. This European city-state used to be the impenetrable headquarters of the Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages before it was ravaged during their civil war.
Profession... Umbra Witch. Bayonetta is a descendent of this ancient clan of European dark-arts practitioners. Centuries ago, they worked together with their light-based counterparts the Lumen Sages to balance the world. However, they have since become sworn enemies in the Clan Wars.
Interests… killing angels. As an Umbra Witch, Bayonetta fights against angels, and she really enjoys it. Using her magic hair and guns strapped to her feet, she battles like a delighted dancer who can’t get enough of the carnage surrounding her. She says, “You naughty little angels deserve a good spanking.”
Relationship Status... single. To Bayonetta, men are just playthings. She is very sexual and uses her erotic appeal to get what she wants, but ultimately she is a fiercely independent witch and views others as inferior.
Challenge... uncovering her lost memories and saving the world. After awakening from her slumber, Bayonetta has to piece together her own life story, including her role in an oncoming apocalypse she must prevent.
Personality... cocky, funny, and teasing. Bayonetta doesn’t take things too seriously. Even with the world on the line, she approaches things casually and with a biting sense of humor. However, while caring for the orphan girl Cereza, Bayonetta does slowly reveal her more sensitive side.
