Grew up… a thousand years ago in Sweden. Anya cursed her lover after he cheated on her, and then sought other ways to extract her revenge. A demon named D’Hoffryn offered her the chance to become an immortal demon in exchange for dedicating her life to vengeance. She transformed into Anyanka after accepting his proposition. For over a millennium she has been granting dark wishes to women who had been betrayed by men.

Visiting… Sunnydale, California. Anya took on a mortal teenage form to convince high school student Cordelia to make a dark wish after her boyfriend, Xander Harris, cheated. Living in Sunnydale is dull in comparison to the life she has led. As she states, “For a thousand years I wielded the powers of the Wish. I brought ruin to the heads of unfaithful men. I brought forth destruction and chaos for the pleasure of the lower beings. I was feared and worshipped across the mortal globe. And now I’m stuck at Sunnydale High.”

Profession... Patron Saint of The Women Scorned, but currently a mere high school student struggling with math.

Interests... money. It’s the one thing she really likes about the mortal world. 

Relationship Status… perpetually single. After her bad breakup a thousand years ago, she has never been able to trust men again.

Challenge... being a mere mortal. Although she thought she was only temporarily changing in a human for Cordelia, she has ended up stuck in human form. No longer a supernatural being, she struggles being an average teenage human. Needless to say, a thousand-year-old demon has had some trouble fitting in; she can’t even talk normally.

Personality...  tactless and painfully straightforward. Her complete and utter lack of people skills initially alienates her from others, although she isn’t sure why people object to her honesty. The only person who tolerates her is Xander – the guy she was originally called upon to destroy.
