Angela Chase

Living... in suburban Three Rivers, Pennsylvania, with her parents, Graham and Patty, and her younger sister, Danielle. Angela has always been a very "good" and motivated person by her parents' standards, but begins developing a typically complex and rebellious relationship with them in her teenage years. 

Profession... high school student. Between actual schoolwork and the myriad complications that surround the social environment of high school, it’s essentially a fulltime job.

Interests... changing by the week. As a 15-year-old sophomore, Angela is starting to break away from her old friends and her parents and find new friends, like Rayanne and Rickie. Everything seems up for grabs in her life, including what she likes to do for fun.

Relationship Status... completely enamored with Jordan Catalano, a stereotypical bad boy at her high school. At first, Angela is only brave enough to marvel at him from afar. But eventually he starts to notice her; she might really have a chance with Jordan after all. She certainly feels ready – overdue, in fact – for a “real” relationship: "Love is when you look into someone's eyes and suddenly you go all the way inside, to their soul, and you both know instantly. I thought at least by the age of 15 I'd have a love life, but I don't even have a like life!"

Challenge... dealing with change. Like many kids her age, Angela is facing a sort of crisis of personality, unsure of who she is supposed to be. As she describes it, "Things were getting to me. Just how people are – how they always expect you to be a certain way." She feels forced to walk a narrow line, stuck between holding on to who she has been in the past and embracing the person she is becoming. Naturally, she receives greatly conflicting advice on the issue. Her old friends and her family try to keep her the same person she has been, while her new friends (and she herself) tell her to move forward. Ah, life as a teen-ager.

Personality... smart and determined, but unsure of who she is right now. Angela is about as level-headed as one can expect from a 15-year-old, but she’s experiencing the full complement of growing pains. She’s trying to become the adult she’s meant to be, but she’s not there yet. In the meantime, that means lots of drama – with her new friends, with her old friends, with her parents, and with the dreamy Jordan Catalano.
