Living... with AIDS in the East Village of New York City in 1989, with his friend-family of fellow bohemian artists.
Profession... street drummer by day, drag queen by night. And during the day when he’s not banging his plastic pickle tub, he’s happy to make an extra buck or two from ladies in limousines who ask for his help to make their neighbors’ yappy dogs disappear.
Interests... dressing in drag and spreading positive energy to everyone he meets. Angel may be living with AIDS, but he is hopeful and loves life. He shares that hope and love wherever he goes, whether that’s Life Support meetings or his friend Maureen’s performance art shows.
Relationship Status... dating Tom Collins. They met when Angel rescued Collins from muggers on the street. They have been inseparable ever since, always supporting each other and covering each other with kisses.
Challenge... battling AIDS. As much as Angel has an optimistic outlook on life, the reality is that his disease is making him weaker and weaker. He’s fighting as best as he can, but the disease might be too powerful for even his strong, positive energy.
Personality... funny, confident, loving, and open-minded. In fact, like his name, Angel is downright angelic. He has a positive light that shines through and warms the hearts of all his friends.
