Adrian Cronauer

Overview… comedian and soldier, and those sides frequently conflict.Funnyman Adrian Cronauer arrives in Saigon in 1965 to begin work as a DJ for Armed Forces Radio Service. His quirky sense of humor and lighthearted programming are an instant hit with his fellow DJs and the troops. Unfortunately, Army officials such as Sergeant Major Philip Dickerson aren’t so pleased, as Cronauer’s style clashes with protocol. Now Adrian must find a way to keep his job while staying true to his audience – and himself. 

Personality… affable, but rebellious. Just because he is a nice guy doesn’t mean he’ll follow Dickerson’s rules of broadcasting. Cronauer is well aware that the war isn’t going as well as Army chiefs want their troops to think, and he is not about to leave America’s dedicated soldiers in the dark.
