Overview… a young Englishwoman who is eager to see the world. To her credit, Adela is not a snob like many of her compatriots. She wants to use her time visiting colonial India to see what life is actually like in this exotic land. But while the brainy and sometimes passion-less Adela thinks that she can understand the wonders of India, this mysterious land and its people also have to be comprehended by the heart.
Personality… headstrong, intelligent, and cold. Adela is all intellect. While it appears that she has more sympathy for the Indians than the old-fashioned Mrs. Moore, in truth her fascination is far more academic and detached.
