It's fast paced work, but jokes and banter between Sam Hanna and G. Callen keep things from getting too heavy.
Hannibal follows the relationship between the esteemed psychiatrist and his newest patient, neurotically empathetic FBI special agent Will Graham. Together, the two help solve crime for the FBI, but Will is hardly the most stable investigator and Hannibal seems to be hiding secrets of his own. Hannibal may not be for the faint of stomach. But for those willing to brave its bloodier moments, the show is a feast indeed.
In South Park, the adventures of four young boys in rural Colorado become a means for the show's creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, to ruthlessly satirize current events, celebrities, politicians, and to posit their essential thesis, which is that adults are idiots. Crass and deeply perverse, South Park is not for the faint of heart, but the show's predilection for "going there" accounts for both its funniness and insightful social commentary.
Teenage Buffy Summers was expelled from Hemery High for burning down the gym to kill the vampires inside. Her mother thought that moving to a smaller town like Sunnydale would give Buffy a chance to start anew. Gilmore Girls is set in Stars Hollow, an idyllic New England town with one traffic light and ton of kooky characters. Lorelei Gilmore is a single mom raising Rory, the daughter she had when she was only 16. She doesn't follow any parenting instruction manuals; she raises Rory as only she could. That means Chinese food-fueled movie marathons and gabbing at the local coffee shop.
Gotham centers on Jim Gordon, a homicide detective. Jim wants to clean up Gotham City and do right by its citizens. Unfortunately, he's one of the only men in Gotham who does. Bribery, exploitation, and fraud are rampant, even among those who are tasked with upholding justice. Jim starts to realize that although he "came here to be a cop, this city needs something else."
Family Guy centers on an all-American life in the hometown of Quahog. Peter lives with his wife Lois, their three children (Meg, Chris and Stewie) and the family's hyper-intelligent talking dog, Brian. Life should be simple for Peter, but he keeps getting into trouble due to his own stupidity. And his infant son, Stewie, is quite a handful. Stewie is determined to take over the world, but first he must kill his mother who stands in his way.

She dated a guy named Kilgrave who could psychically control her mind and she did things under his control that no hero would do. Now she just wants to make a living as a private investigator so she can drink enough to forget her past.
Parks and Recreation takes place in Pawnee, Indiana. It is smack in America's heartland, and the lead character Leslie Knope puts the "heart" in Pawnee. Leslie and her colleagues not only face a dwindling budget and endless red tape, but they also have a boss from Hell named Ron. Ron, a staunch libertarian who believes government should do as little as possible. Leslie and her team work double-time to pick up the slack.
Friends revolves around Manhattan 20-somethings: Rachel (socialite turned waitress), Monica (neurotic chef who loves her friends), Phoebe (singer, masseuse, and free spirit), Chandler (could he BE any funnier?), Joey (lover of women and sandwiches), and Ross (the butt of most of their jokes).
