Character Analysis

(Avoiding Spoilers)

Living... wherever her work takes her. As a high-ranking government official, Waller operates everywhere from Gotham City to Washington, D.C.

Profession... intelligence operative with the U.S. government. It’s Waller’s job to keep the country safe and she takes that responsibility very seriously. Now that powerful forces like Superman and The Flash have begun popping up, Waller fears their evil counterparts won’t be far behind.

Interests... fine wine, good steak, and a powerful handgun.

Relationship Status... unknown. Waller keeps her personal life strictly confidential. She has files on just about everyone, but her own private life is a secret. As she puts it, “Everyone has a weakness, and a weakness can be leverage.”

Challenge... creating Task Force X. Waller comes up with an unconventional plan to stop dangerous “metahumans.” She’ll assemble a team of imprisoned supervillians to complete the dangerous missions that regular special forces can’t. By implanting explosive devices in their necks and giving Colonel Rick Flag the detonator, Waller hopes she’ll be able to control unruly forces like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Enchantress. As she explains, “In a world of monsters, this is the only way to protect the country.” But you know what they say about the best-laid plans of mice and men…

Personality... icy, no-nonsense, and in control. Amanda Waller is not a woman to be trifled with. She doesn’t feel the need to aggressively assert her influence; instead she just effortlessly exudes authority. Some may underestimate her because of her race or gender, but real power players know the buck stops with Waller. Although she ultimately wants to help people, Waller is cutthroat and merciless in her tactics. As she puts it, “Getting people to act against their own self-interest for the national security of the United States is what I do for a living.”
